Understanding a quoted price is as important as knowing the price itself. A transparent quotation should explain the proposed system and what will be delivered.
System and equipment
Request the panel quantity and model, inverter, roof mounting components, monitoring functionality and any proposed battery. Ask for equipment warranties and who provides support if a component fails.
Site-specific work
Scaffolding, roof repairs, cable routes, consumer unit alterations and complex access arrangements can affect cost. Do not assume these are included unless the quotation says so.
Long-term ownership costs
Allow for maintenance, possible inverter replacement and the terms of any monitoring or service agreement. Keep records of system performance and warranties after installation.
